The Butterfly Pose- Daily Doga Pose
Our dogs version seriously looks like a doggy budda! Basically you can get you dog to sit and guide them back so they are sitting on their hind legs and straight up! Balance can be tricky for your dog since they walk and run on all 4 paws! So you can let them put a paw up and try to get a treat from your hand and their third paw will actually help with balance (it’s like you trying to balance on one foot and using a chair or wall for support). If you can get behind your dog you can have them sit in front of you and get ahold of their front paws and bring them up easily. Whenever your dog wants to get out of any pose let them, keep the practice nice, easy, friendly, positive- you get the idea!
Hold the pose with your dog for as long as you can, if they fall out and you can get them back in the pose give it another try! Let them be a Budda Butterfly today.
Our pose makes us look like a Budda as well. For us we should have our dogs close by. And we will sit on the floor, then bring our legs in. Our feet will be flat again each other facing each other. And we will bring our feet as close to our pelvis as possible. It proves for a great stretch! Just breathe easily during the pose, in through the nose and out through your mouth.
You can also flap our legs up and down here for a deeper stretch, an even deeper stretch you would lean forward onto your elbows or to further that stretch stretch your arms out and lean as forward as possible putting your forehead to the ground!
Until tomorrow have a happy and healthy tail waggin’ day!
